Well, we called it prematurely a few weeks ago, but it appears that the Byron Leftwich Era is now upon us. Harrington’s play wasn’t enough to force the move during Monday night’s game, but Petrino apparently took a step back and looked at the big picture and decided to hand the rest of the year […]

Harrington looked good. The defense looked good. Father Time, er, Morten Andersen kicked 4 field goals.
It’s nice to remember what an NFL victory feels like.

The verdict is in on the discipline by the Falcons against Deangelo Hall for his tirade during the Panthers game: a $100,000 fine and possibly some bench time in the Texans game.

The Falcons have heeded my call (yeah, I’m sure they did it because of this blog) and hired a new kicker. It’s one they’ve had before, the timeless Morten Andersen. He is 47, or as ESPN put it, he was born in the Cretaceous Period (I think they actually said Crestacean, confusing the period with […]
The Falcons made 22 roster moves to reach the mandated 53 players today, including trading Rossum to the Steelers. Here is the news from the official Falcons page.
And here is the updated Falcons roster:
Abraham, John 55 DE 6-4 258 29 9 South Carolina
Anderson, Jamaal 98 DE 6-6 280 21 1 Arkansas
Babineaux, Jonathan 95 DT 6-2 […]
Arthur Blank held a press conference this afternoon to respond to Michael Vick’s plea agreement, which was accepted earlier today by the federal judge in Richmond.
Blank said that terminating Vick right now is “not in our team’s best interest.” Unclear what that means. I guess it means they haven’t figured out how to take care of […]
