Roddy White returned to training camp today and was the 1st one in line for drills. It was a welcome sight to Falcon fans as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL - and Matt Ryan’s favorite target from 2008 - was absent since the start of camp.

Atlanta fans are very aware that Roddy White and Jerious Norwood are approaching free agency. Roddy White has 2009 as the final season of his rookie deal, one where he has been very underpaid for his performance with Matt Ryan in 2008 and even Chris Redman in 2007.
Alge Crumpler was a fan favorite in Atlanta, but was part of the veteran personnel purge before the 2008 season. Crumpler landed in Tennessee, with partial success, while Atlanta searched to fill the void.
The wide receivers showed marked improvement from the 2007 season with Matt Ryan under center. Watching the game a couple times, I saw mostly good things against the Saints. Here’s all the positive - Matt Ryan (besides the interception) looked better than ever. Roddy White is a man possessed. The secondary played well. We were a couple plays away from beating a team that plays very well at home.
